This decision will ensure that the Schaghticoke and Eastern Pequot tribes cannot build casinos in Connecticut. "It is a historic win for Connecticut because it will bar a third casino and needless unfounded land claims" - Attorney General Richard Blumenthal. "This is great news for Connecticut. Common sense and the rule of law prevailed today" - Governor Jodi Rell.

Rethinking Connecticut's Pact With Casinos. HARTFORD, CT (2005-05-05) Jeff Benedict concludes a two-part commentary on Casino Gambling in this Sunday's Commentary section of the Hartford Courant. "Measuring the Toll of Connecticut's Casinos" is a critical view of the revenue that the state receives every year from the two Indian casinos in Connecticut. Several groups have expressed an interest in developing major, world-class casinos in our state. Locations include Bridgeport, Woodstock and Danbury.

Foxwoods Resort & Casino and Mohegan Sun are the worlds two largest casinos - and they have big plans for expansion.
